Lanier Technical College – Dawson campus; Dawsonville GA (zip code 30534) is conducting a
search for the following full-time, FLSA non-exempt, benefits-eligible, salaried position.

POSITION: CUSTODIAN – DAWSON CAMPUS
REPORTS TO: Custodial Supervisor
SALARY RANGE: $30k - $31k, depending on qualifications and experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all aspects of general cleaning and general maintenance for assigned areas on the
Dawson campus. Workweek schedule is 40 hours. Duties include, but are not limited to, the
following: Complete cleaning of assigned areas, to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming,
dusting, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, etc.; strip and wax floors; move tables and chairs;
and set-up for different campus functions. Perform other work-related duties as assigned by
Supervisor. Work is performed primarily indoors and exposed to dust, dirt, grease, irritating
chemicals, and cleaning machinery. Work requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending,
crouching, lifting light and heavy objects, and using tools and equipment and require dexterity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
? Skill in understanding and following written and oral instructions;
? Ability to complete assigned tasks in a thorough and timely manner;
? Ability to operate cleaning equipment, including vacuum and buffing machine, in a safe
and effective manner;
? Ability to perform the physical components of the position, with or without reasonable
accommodation.
COMPETENCIES:
? Ability and skill to operate computer and job-related software programs;
? Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies)
? High school diploma or equivalent;
? Knowledge of cleaning chemicals;
? Previous cleaning experience in an industrial/public sector environment;
? Skill in operating specialized cleaning equipment (i.e. carpet shampoo machine, etc.) and
various hand tools.
