July Hike and Paddle Combo
I’m always looking for a way to turn work into to play and decided to offer a hike and paddle combo that includes one of my favorite rivers, The Etowah. On Wednesday July the 16th, our program will focus on the Etowah and the section we will paddle on the 17th. The Dawson Forest Section is eight miles of flat water (a few class ones) paddling and on average takes three to four hours. This section has the feel of being in the mountains minus the whitewater and was once home to a secretive nuclear aircraft laboratory. You are welcome to bring your own boat, but if you need a boat then we have partnered with The Outside World Outfitters located here in Dawsonville. The Outside World will also be aiding us in shuttling from the put in and take out locations as well. We are offering a 20% discount for your stay at the Hike Inn which includes your lunch and shuttle.
