POOL

• Located at Veterans Memorial Park (physical address for pool is 32 Recreation Road Dawsonville, GA)
• Outdoor facility, consisting of 1 wade pool and 1 Olympic-size pool, which includes a diving board
• 3 Lifeguards on duty at all times during public swim hours
• 10-minute chemical check every hour (all swimmers must exit the water during the check)
• Sand volleyball court adjacent to pool
• Chaise lounge chairs, tables/chairs/umbrellas, and covered picnic tables (availability is first-come, first-served)
• Concessions available for purchase
• Restrooms/showers onsite

Pool Season:  Thursday, May 26, 2016 (day after last day of school) thru Monday, September 5, 2016 (Labor Day)*

*Final weekday for public swim will be August 4th, since Dawson County schools start back on August 5th; at this time, the pool will only be open for public swim on Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day.

Public Swim

• Public Swim hours:  12:00-5:00pm daily
• Open Monday-Sunday (weekends only once school starts in August)
• Daily Admission: $3 per person (cash only – bills over $20 not accepted)
• Individual Season Pass: $30 resident / $50 non-resident
• Family Season Pass: $100 resident / $120 non-resident (5 members max)

Season Passes

• Pool Passes can be purchased online 24/7 or at the main office at Rock Creek during regular business hours (Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm).
• Passes purchased online will be sent to the pool for customer to pick up.

Pool Party Rentals

• We begin taking pool party rentals for the public at Rock Creek at 8:00am on the first weekday of May each year (not necessarily the first day of May - some years, May 1st falls on a Saturday or Sunday); this year, that date will be Monday, May 2, 2016). 
• We recommend that renters arrive at Rock Creek no later than 7:30am on May 2nd if they are less flexible with their requested party dates. Arriving early does not guarantee dates but does increase chances of getting 1st choice of dates.
• We also recommend that the renter has 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice dates in mind in case they do not get the first date they want.
  • Side note:  Typically, there are 10-15 people waiting in the lobby at 7:30am
• Each person may rent up to 3 dates maximum.
• Walk-in rentals will take precedence over attempted phone-in rentals (706-344-3646).
  • Side note:  90% of our available rental dates are booked by 10:00am on the first day
• Pool Party Dates/Times:
  • Pool Party Season:  May 27, 2016 - August 7, 2016 (pool party rentals are not available once school starts back in August)
  • Pool Party Days:  For the most part, the available dates to rent will be Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays; however, there will be some sporadic weeknights available throughout the summer that we will open up for pool parties. We select random dates ahead of time that we will hold as black-out/make-up dates.  These dates are used to reschedule parties that have been cancelled due to inclement weather (a full refund is also an option for parties cancelled due to weather).
  • Pool Party time:  All pool parties are 6:30-8:30pm. 
  • Set up / Clean up: 
    • Set up:  6:00-6:30pm
    • Clean up:  8:30-9:00pm
    • The lifeguard will arrive 30 minutes prior to and stay 30 minutes after pool party.  This additional time is a courtesy to the renter, to be used for set up and clean up purposes ONLY and CANNOT be used as part of the allotted party time.  The only people allowed inside the pool area during this time are the lifeguard(s) and the renter.  Swimming is not permitted during this time.
• Rental Fee: 
  • $30 per date (Dawson County residents) / $50 (non-residents) Non-residency is determined by the county of residence (not the city in their address).  For example, many people may have a Dawsonville address but actually reside in Forsyth or Lumpkin County (these people are considered non-residents because they do not pay taxes in Dawson County).
• Lifeguards: 
  • Lifeguard fees:  $45 per lifeguard (includes 30-minute set up, 2-hour party, 30-minute clean up)
    • The lifeguard fee is due on the rental date and must be paid directly to the lifeguard(s) on duty.  Cash payment is preferred but we understand some organizations/businesses can only pay with check so we will allow check payment, when necessary and requested.
  • The number of lifeguards is determined by the number of people expected to be inside the fence at the party (this includes swimmers, as well as spectators and other non-swimmers).  When we take the party rental, we need to know how many people are expected at the party.  If there are any changes to this, we need to know 2 weeks in advance so that we can adjust the lifeguard schedule, if necessary.  The renter will be responsible for paying all lifeguards on duty even if they end up with fewer people at the party and fail to let us know ahead of time.
    • 1-40 people in attendance  = 1 Lifeguard ($45 total)
    • 41-80 people in attendance = 2 Lifeguards ($90 total)
    • And so on
