Description
The Dawson County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in cooperation with the National Weather Service (NWS) is sponsoring a Severe Weather Storm Spotting Program.
The objective of the program is to educate citizens on how to: Identify Severe Storms, Describe Severe Storms, Report Severe Storms. Communicating severe weather observations saves precious time and lives. Approximately 290,000 citizens have been trained as storm spotters. The NWS views citizen storm spotters as "the first line of defense against severe weather".
