Purpose & Description

The Site Development Project Manager (PM) oversees site development from commencement to final completion. The PM is responsible for subcontractor coordination and oversight including but not limited to survey, earthwork, retaining walls, drainage, utilities, paving, concrete flatwork and other related elements of civil site development. 
The Site Development PM will become an essential role requiring a blend of technical knowledge, leadership skills and project management abilities in the overall management of site operations. They will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. An aptitude towards the Site Development duties and a willingness to work hard toward company goals will ensure the Project Manager can succeed.

Tasks & Activities

  • Overseeing and directing construction site projects from conception to completion.
  • May direct and supervise assistant PM’s or site superintendents.
  • Planning daily work schedules and coordinating workers on site.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines such as engineering, surveying, project estimators, pre-construction managers, etc.    
  • Inspecting construction sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards. 
 
  • Prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly reports and attend meetings as necessary.
  • Supervising and providing guidance to construction workers and/or sub-contractors.
  • Ensuring materials are supplied and work is completed on schedule.
  • Preparing and submitting project estimates and budgets.
  • Documenting and reporting progress to executive management and owners.
  • Adhering to compliance regulations.
  • Preparing and executing pay applications.
  • Update system software information as necessary.
  • Ensuring adherence to all health and safety standards and reporting issues.
  • Resolving problems and implementing improvements in the site development process.
  • Maintaining communication between other project managers, superintendents, site staff and clients.

Physical Requirements/Environment & work setting

  • Requires at least 8 daily work hours of walking, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, stretching, crouching, squatting, and repetitive motion.
  • Work in a variety of locations and conditions.
  • Splitting your time between office setting and constructions sites.
  • Require hands to handle, control, and work tools, or controls.
  • Requires lifting and moving a minimum of 40 pounds or working as a team to lift and move heavier objects.
  • Requires walking on uneven or unstable terrain.
  • Exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
  • Exposure to chemicals, hazardous equipment, minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings.
  • Wear appropriate safety and protection equipment.
  • Requires traveling on roadways in a personal vehicle or company vehicle, while observing all roadway laws.

Education & Experience

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant field
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 
  • Excellent writing and high-level mathematical education.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and associated construction documents.
  • Familiar with BlueBeam, Procore or equivalent.
  • PE License or PMP certification are an advantage.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to legally work in the United States.
